OceansTrends 2018 Scientific Seminar brought together over 150 participants from more than 60 countries. The Seminar focused on “Conservation and Sustainable Use of the Ocean - Supportive Technologies and Future Trends” and was offered in cooperation with the World Maritime University (WMU) and the University of Nantes, within the framework of the European programme Human Sea, funded by the European Research Council (ERC Advanced Grant 2013, n° 340770).

Discussions focused on the themes of Marine Spatial Planning & Blue Growth, Safety Aspects of Exploitation Activities, and issues surrounding Shipping in the Era of Digitalisation including a session on Autonomous Vessels. Participants included professionals and academics working in the field of sustainable ocean management, marine spatial planning and maritime technologies
